Excursions in salient locations in China, with specialized itineraries,
including presentations and orientations prior to and/or during visits
made to historical and cultural sites. In order to respond to questions and
provide greater understanding, these events are conducted at a
comfortable pace, stimulating on-site discussions and are offered in
Portuguese, Spanish and English. These activities are intended for those
who are encountering China for the first time and seek an understanding
of this country in a more structured context. Suggested excursions:
2. Intellectual-Cultural Excursions
Productive leisure through the union of thematic lectures and visits to
historical and cultural sites, designed according to the group’s interest.
The presentations, made by university professors in their area of
expertise, address a variety of subjects and are often held in cooperation
with renowned Chinese universities. These excursions are intended for
those who seek a deeper treatment of China-related themes, as well as a
transcultural foundation or a better understanding of Chinese culture, in
order to facilitate interaction with this country. These activities are
offered in Portuguese, Spanish and English. Suggested themes:
SBAEC has working relationships with universities and institutions that
provide international exchanges, such as: Wuhan University, Wuhan;
Shandong University, Jinan; Qufu Normal University, Qufu; Beijing
Language and Culture University, Beijing.
3. Academic Events
Conferences, symposia and thematic assemblies, both in China and
Brazil, that focus on Chinese thought and culture, with presentations
made by sinologists. These events are organized in conjunction with
Chinese universities and, besides stimulating academic-cultural
exchanges between China and Latin America, are designed to respond
to the needs of the Portuguese-speaking and Spanish-speaking
communities in China. They are available in Portuguese, Spanish and
English. SBAEC held the 1st Symposium on Sinology in 2004, in Foz do
Iguaçu, Brazil.
4. Student Exchanges
Short-term programs held in Chinese universities which offer students
from different countries the opportunity not only to study, but experience
the Chinese culture and reality together firsthand. These programs
include activities such as: basic Chinese language studies, thematic
lectures, and field trips to cultural and historical sites. Wuhan University’s
International Summer Program, in Wuhan, and Shandong University’s
International Summer School program, in Jinan, are two of the available
options.
5. Chinese Language
Short and long-term Chinese language programs. The participant can
choose from programs in a selection of Chinese cities. SBAEC maintains
partnerships with schools such as: Shandong University, Jinan; Wuhan
University, Wuhan; Qingdao Hanyi Language Training School, Qingdao;
Beijing Culture and Language University, Beijing.
6. Liaison between Corporations, Institutions and Official Bodies.
Facilitation of academic, commercial and official exchanges between
Brazil and China. Assistance offered by SBAEC includes reception of
Chinese delegations in Brazil and reception of Brazilian delegations in
China.
